John Calvin quotes

"There is not one blade of grass, there is no color in this world that is not intended to make us rejoice."

"True wisdom consists in two things: Knowledge of God and Knowledge of Self."

"However many blessings we expect from God, His infinite liberality will always exceed all our wishes and our thoughts."

"A perfect faith is nowhere to be found, so it follows that all of us are partly unbelievers."

“Build a man a fire and he will be warm for a day; set him on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.”

“You must submit to supreme suffering in order to discover the completion of joy”

“God tolerates even our stammering, and pardons our ignorance whenever something inadvertently escapes us - as, indeed, without this mercy there would be no freedom to pray”

  1. Excellent quotes. Hope you’ll take some time, please, to visit our Calvin-admiring site, read some articles, listen to some radio shows, give me some feedback. We are Christians FIRST and not Republican Party cheerleaders. God bless you, your family, your work.

I have personally found this one to be true, and it drives me crazy. Part of my work is graphic design, and as such I'm supposed to know which colors are "pleasing". They all are!
