Quote of the Week

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." --John Adams.

  1. But of course this begs the questions,

    Which type of religious people?

    Which kind of moral people?

Adam's was a Unitarian and likely a Deist. He was still operating on the remnant capital of a Christian worldview but he Himself had abandoned the faith of his Baptist Deacon Father for a very different Faith.

    Now, if he had said,

"Our Constitution was made only for a Christian people who have embraced Christian morality. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

    I would have been excited.

Don't give up writing. Practice makes perfect.

I didn't even know you had this blog.

  2. Well, even our Constitution was not exactly made for a Christian people, being a comprimise document.

Thank you for commenting. How did you find my blog?
