Lenten prayer

Die, die to yourself,
And to everyone else;
Die to the life you've been given.
Give yourself up
To the pain and the death
In the journey that leads to the Cross.

Look, look at yourself
And give up all hope
of courage and strength within.
Turn outward your gaze to the Christ of the Cross,
For life with abundant joy.
